Quick question. When I used to do direct deposit, my money would be there on a Wednesday even though payday was Friday. I figured the minute the checks were sent out, the payroll money was there and that’s why I had my money early. With my new job, payday is Monday but the HR woman said the money would be there Saturday. And FWIW, I work for a large corporation. Thoughts?

I get paid 15th and last day of the month. If payday falls on a weekend, the money’s deposited on the Friday night before. If it’s on a Monday, I see it over the weekend as well. Pay has to be available to you on payday, or it’s considered late. Auto deposits work that way. A live check they can hand you at the office…and if you’re not there(say sick), they still have it for you, though you can’t access it. In this regard, auto-deposit is better.
