One of the things I’ve noticed about the accusations of “Magic Balance Fairy” is that people start to think their side is somehow immune and cannot be judged by the same standard. It’s faulty logic.

The MBF accusations come up when people say stuff like Rachel Maddow is no different than Glenn Beck, since they both have a partisan point of view.

One is a highly educated political commentator who researches the hell out of her material, and will admit when she’s wrong. The other is an over-the-top demagogue who knows how to fire up his audience with bullshit that is easily disproven with minimal effort.

What’s frustrating is when obviously intelligent people push this kind of nonsense ad nauseum.
