It’s the latest shitty thing to happen to a struggling friend of mine. He’s got a not-very-good part time job, applied for another one, and even though the schedules are completely different and add up to only 45 hours a week, they told him it was a problem and he couldn’t be hired.

The “new” place may be concerned that even though at this time the schedules are completely different and add up to only 45 hours a week, if that changes in the future your friend may opt to adhere to the 1st companies “new” schedule out of loyalty
