Back in 1965 I was 9, my mom would take us to a beach in Alameda, on San Francisco Bay. While my mom suntanned we played in the water. My friend and I would catch small (2-3’) dogfish (?) sharks by the tails and throw them back out to deeper water. If my mom had known what we were doing….*

*She grew up in land-locked Manitoba for 28 years then moved to the US in 1960. Not sure she would have thought sharks were OK for her 9 Y.O. son to play with.
