Actually, it’s increasingly the other way around: The GOP is becoming the political arm of Fox News and related outlets in the right wing of the media-industrial complex.
Other media-industrial power centers continue to be represented by the Democratic Party.

Maybe the GOP is sucking up to them because they can be sure the other networks won’t give them even fair coverage.

Not that I watch TV news at all.
