He’s making quite a few definitive statements, and if any of which are contradicted by evidence discovered by law enforcement among emails or other means, he’s going to be brought up on charges of perjury and/or obstruction of justice - and the question becomes on which side of the Pond that he faces those charges.

They certainly are painting themselves into some very specific corners in unambiguous terms. They much believe that they have covered their tracks extremely well. My guess would be very large bribes to the parties that know just how much the Murdoch’s really knew at the time of the bribes, if I had to guess. Clandestine golden parachutes, if you will.
