So Trump, as usual, is “misremembering” - Rosenstein was one of the US Attorneys mass-fired by the Admin early on: he was one of the ones who were kept on; and promoted to DAG. I suppose it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Trump might not have known him personally (there a great many things Donald Trump doesn’t know), and that Jeff Sessions recommended him - though The Littlest Rebel might not have had that much acquaintance (?): he probably just noted that R.R. was a Republican, and that was good enough. Too bad for them he turned out to be an honest one.
