This is the pattern, and its annoying: People get so into the preset lines of argument, that they can’t break out of the chains and engage:

The perfect example would be this right of conquest thing. NOBODY IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE IDEA OF RIGHT OF CONQUEST! The only objections, are in general, people trying to think of counterexamples for fun. And yet there’s this monomoniacal focus on the idea, as if anybody is denying Israel’s claim to their state.

My whole point is that no matter how much you believe your positions, the rest of the world doesn’t, and thus if Israel did as Ludwig said and just invaded, They would have to accept the diplomatic cost.

Beyond that, the only people who should make that decision are those actually living in Israel. I really don’t want to offend anyone, but its just to easy for somebody living in SF or NY (or Portland) to say ‘oh they should invade’, and not expect to pay the cost in $$$ and lives themselves. Its freaking cavalier.
