Greets and saluts from the recovering NYC metro area. Drying out from all the rains and floods, but the problems are dire in parts of NJ but especially in PA and upstate NY along the Susquehanna River, which is seeing record flooding once again.

Ground Zero (or as the PANY wants to refer to it - the World Trade Center - is now ringed by tons of police and checkpoints abound. Media outlets are now reporting from the rooftop of the World Financial Center overlooking the WTC Memorial, which opens to the public on the 12th (this Monday) but which requires obtaining a free timed ticket for entry since the maximum number of people that can view the memorial at one time is 1,500 due to the ongoing construction surrounding the site.

Add to that the credible threat of an al Qaeda attack in NYC or DC and law enforcement is definitely ramping up their presence in both visible and hidden means. With Presidents Bush and Obama attending ceremonies Sunday, they’re not taking any chances.

The Flight 93 Memorial is being dedicated on Saturday out in Shanksville, PA.
