I’ve not read his book, but I understand that he promoted it (his book, and presumably Sharia) as a guest speaker at the 2009 Hisb-ul-tahrir conference.

Here’s the problem. People do not seem to be able to understand that Sharia is a binding legal system upon Muslims, but the vast majority of American Muslims do not favor (or give any thought to) imposing it as the legal system of the United States. It’s not even the legal system in most Muslim nations.

I can buy a book on the laws of marriage for Jewish women, but that doesn’t mean I expect Congress to enforce mikvah and head covering.
