Probably an attempt at preempting further allegations. Yet, it also suggests that there might be more “there” there. He’s denying anything untoward, yet the organization had some kind of payout. I guess there ought to be a line of questions towards the organization over the kind of payout, what was involved, and why all the secrecy over the payout if something untoward didn’t happen. Considering that the lawyers sealed that one up pretty tight, I doubt you’d get answers as to what happened unless they agreed (and realized it would do less damage to the organization than keeping it sealed).

I don’t think this has legs - unless there are more incidents in his closet.
