Maj. Nidal Hasan Guilty of 45 Counts of Murder

I think it was a foregone conclusion that he was going to be found guilty. After all, he admitted to the killings, but claimed them justified. That defense was disallowed, and he presented no evidence to counter the admission of shooting those present at the Fort Hood site.

The only question is whether he will be given the death penalty or whether he’ll be sentenced to life without parole. I’m thinking it will be the latter, primarily to deny him the claim of martyrdom.

None of this brings back any of his victims, and it’s poor consolation to them.
