Yesterday, I heard the price of washers and dryers has risen an average of $100/unit. Foreign-built ones because of the tariff, and domestic-buit ones because the manufacturers decided they could raise the price without losing business.

And nobody’s thinking about moving factories back here.

That is supposed to be the point of protective tariffs.
