Is there anything to keep the death rate from exploding when the medical system collapses and critical cases have to stay at home? I am not a doctor, let alone an epidemiologist but I am aware of several times in my life when the availability of prompt, professional medical attention made the difference between a painful inconvenience and certain death. it really seems that we might be looking at millions of deaths when the system is overwhelmed, which is already happening many places and seems imminent in many others.
