Uh, no. We were discussing Ralph Nader’s proposal for a left-right alliance. It’s not a new idea, the alliance has been functioning for quite some time.

And again: On the left, OWS had, and certainly has, almost no political influence. On the right, the Tea Party had and has enormous influence; they shifted the GOP to the right, and even though the GOP structure is stomping a lot of the Tea Party loons who want to run for elected office, the GOP has co-opted the Tea Party’s message, embraced their semi-anarchic ideas of government.

The difference between the left and the right, in so far as they actually exist, in the US today is that the left keeps the extremists far from the levers of power and the right elects them or caters to them.
