It’s weird. You seem to recognize the link to Jesus, in that Seeger is simply repeating Jesus’s teachings, but somehow in order for this message not to be “hogwash” Jesus has to return. I don’t get that. What’s the point of even being a Christian then if you don’t think the world He wanted His followers to at least try create is even attainable by man? Is it just about using His sacrifice to attain the ecclesiastical white out of one’s sins, or is there also some obligation to spread the Word for sake of creating worldly good?

I’ll admit this is coming from the outside, but what you’re saying just seems so self contradictory.

Perfection can’t be attained by Man, but you still have to continually try to make things better. I’m Christian because I think other people can ultimately get into such a place in Heaven. I really don’t think I’ll be allowed in. My sins are too great, and I lack most ability to love (instead I act out of a sense of duty and a sense of justice).
