A president laughing at the state of our economy and calling it gallows humor pisses me off. When we soldiers used to use “gallows humor” before a mission no one laughed and I’m absollutely certain noone giggled like a school girl about the troubles we would be facing, it was just a way to lessen reservations before the mission.

Imagine the press and public’s reaction if Bush had needed “gallows humor” on camera during Katrina.
