We can do this, just don’t give up. You are a well respected voice. They may not deserve your support, but they need it. We can fix those problems. But only if you want to try. Don’t succumb.

Sadly, any questioning of the orthodoxy leads to ostracism.

It’s like you are in a car heading for the cliff and you mention to the driver, “You know, it might be a good idea to hit the brakes.”

And all he can do is yell “Get the f%^k out of my vehicle!!”

The momentum of the gaspers at this point has reached such a fever pitch that there is no reasoning with them. They are no longer willing to listen. Folks who are willing to discuss individual issues on the merits and do so with respect rather than throwing rhetorical Molotovs are increasingly rare. They are also increasingly here.
