Yeah, nothing quite like levying additional taxes and fees to reduce the deficit. Another approach would be to reduce expenditures, but that one, for a variety of reasons, won’t be brought up.

I think the first one is because no one has come up with a compelling argument for what to cut besides “waste” or “10% cuts across the board!”
