BTW, I saw something the other day about the toll in deaths, injuries, and property damage from High Speed Chases. Lots of bystanders injured and killed, and most of the chases are related to nonviolent offenses. So, we’re killing and injuring men, women and children to try and catch people who hadn’t/wouldn’t kill or injure anyone.

WAY too much ego and ‘Respect Mah Authoritah!’ in law enforcement these days. Tensing shoots Dubose because he started his car. Sandra Bland ends up dead because she was insufficiently obsequious. Eric Garner choked to death for similar reasons, and lots of innocent bystanders killed for similar reasons.

There has to be some way to screen police officer candidates better, to train them better, and to hold them to a higher standard.
