And then we’d have a chairman on record saying that Romney stands for nothing but himself and is untrustable. That’d be nice.

Of course, in the modern GOP it doesn’t even really matter. It’s very Soviet-style; it doesn’t matter what was said a year ago. Gingrich has said some of the most amazingly hostile things about Romney, but now he’s all smiles for him. And GOP voters buy this act, and participate in it themselves.

It’s a very, very weird way to live. It really reminds me of the black humor of Soviet writers.
