I just rationally know that farming vegetables kills plenty of animals too. Little bunnies and mice die so that we can have carrots and arugula and eggplant. Not to mention the destruction to habitat and environment.

Disagree 100%. Animals are tortured heinously across the country in factory farms. Meat tastes very good, and people who hate they current practices and thus choose not to eat meat are making a huge sacrifice. Ethical vegetarians are probably the most ethical sound people in the world.
