It all started with KAC’s Orwellean inspired “alternative facts” where Trump’s inaguaration was the greatest popular event ever when in reality, it was under attended compared to his predecessors and also featured his immediate Republican predecessor and thank you GWB for speaking for all of us when you told Mrs. Obama that it was “some weird shit.” Because it was. It’s the same campaign that convinces us that SNL poking fun at Trump is somehow worse than Trump belittling a disabled reporter and Gold Star Family, and then there are the frauds who have surrounded themselves with Trump who definitely know Trump’s a shitbag because they’ve all expresesd that at some point but party above nation. They couldn’t have put their hatred of HRC and the Dems aside to realize that yeah HRC may not have been ideologically what they wanted but she wasn’t an incompetent moron.

It’s less a new problem and more an existing one getting worse. The acceptance and promotion of GOP bad faith arguments, in conjunction with the demonization and minimization of the press has been with us since at least the days of St. Ron, all Trump did was raise both to their (illegal) conclusions. Where once the GOP was content to use small lies to sell bigger ones, and mutter about the “liberal press” whenever caught in those lies, now they openly wage war with the media to sell those big lies to an increasingly desperate party base.
