I don’t really know how much credence to put in that since it originated with Seymour Hersh. On the other hand he’s been occasionally correct, but he’s definitely been known to sensationalize things beyond reason.

The wikipedia article’s assertion that Israeli nuclear weapons are “all in the multiple megaton range” is utter and complete bullshit. Other nuclear powers have very few weapons in that yield range and some (the UK and France) have none at all.
There are any number of reasons for this, from the weight and bulk of such devices to the greater effectiveness of the larger number of lower yield devices that could be manufactured and delivered for the same effort. The most common US warhead, the W-80, has a published yield of about 280 kilotons (.28 megatons).
