When Nixon told his Cabinet and Military to give the Israelis any item they needed, even taking hardware from active units to prevent them from suffering defeat… that’s pushing in your chips on their side.
Having Kissinger relay that is just good Diplomacy, backed by having already shown the Israelis that we had their back.
