News and opinion are separate on the cable channels, generally, which is more than you can say these days for the regular networks. The problem is that some people don’t know the difference between a news broadcast and and programming that is opinion and commentary.
The WH didn’t seem to have a problem with the blurring during the campaign when the fawning and leg-tingling were ongoing. That was just good reportage.
