It’s sad. I really believe that many people who think of themselves as “opposed to abortion” and vote as such really haven’t thought through the consequences of their position, or indeed what the current legal situation allows and does not allow.

Difficult to get past the noise machine though.

They haven’t thought it through because it’s not a matter of facts and logic. It’s a matter of Divine Duty. The Skydad says abortion is bad and therefore you must vote against abortion, because if you don’t vote with the Skydad you go to Hell.

Then something actually happens to them and theirs and suddenly their views get a lot more ‘flexible’.
