For what it’s worth, I have never been pulled over. My only interactions with police have been polite, and I have never gotten a ticket. They have been helpful, prompt, and respectful.

I am also a white female. I don’t presume that my experience is the same as a young black man’s, and when they talk about what they have experienced, I don’t assume they have deserved every interaction they have with police.

My worst experience was many years ago. Got pulled over in a New Years traffic sweep. I was young and had on a short skirt. Sober as fuck. They got me out of my car and made me walk in front of the headlights. I raged. They let me go.
