That’s a serious flaw in the system. People who vote for “pro-choice” laws can be denied communion. Same for condom use. Abusing the cracker can get you thrown out. Support gay marriage of married priests? That’s an excommunication. I know they have have their dogma to protect but maybe they should be more concerned with real world matters.

Well, his opinions about the holocaust, 9/11, etc., don’t pertain to a matter of Church doctrine, so he can’t be excommunicated for them, only repudiated and reviled.
