Could someone please explain to me what the difference between Mexico and the US is that the disparity should be so huge?

So what is it?

The fact that the Oligarchy had such a strangle hold on the gov’t for so long?
Maybe worse racism/classism then here that allow/allowed workers to be treated so badly and paid so little?
