SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — General Motors Corp. said Thursday that it will make another payment of $1.2 billion by the end of the month toward the debt it owes the U.S. and Canadian governments. The automaker made its first repayment for the same amount back in December and said it plans to fully repay the $6.7 billion in loans from the U.S. government by June. “While we have more work to do, GM is building high-quality, award-winning vehicles, our direction is clear and our plan is working,” GM Chairman and CEO Ed Whitacre said.
