Is a smooth transition something that’s unusual or does it kinda depend on the age of the kids? Or is it just random - each kid being different than every other one?
As I said last night, and mean it, you and your wife really are the finest kind of people around. Just real credits to human kind.

It varies widely, a calm baby will take it more in stride. In this case the kid is coming from a another short term foster home, to our long term one. So the baby is pretty calm. We’ve had a couple that were yanked that day from abuse or neglect situation and dropped in our laps. Those not only do you have the transition but the effects of what ever type of abuse.

This little one’s mom was a drug user so the baby spent the first six weeks in a special facility for infant drug withdrawal.
