Someone mentioned upthread something about the bully pulpit, and it made me wonder: How different would things have been if President Obama had owned the debate? I mean, literally owned it; every night, run a presser and explain how the Teabaggers were totally obstructing progress in the name of petty partisan politics.

He ran so many pressers that there were articles written about how nobody was listening anymore because he was doing too many of them.

You can have as many pressers as you want, but if people don’t tune in, it doesn’t really matter.

He did very clearly state that the GOP was obstructing progress in the name of petty partisan politics, as well.
