Hey, all, Stupid Question Time:

Is a function of the ACA that insurance providers can no longer cut you off after a certain debt ceiling is hit?

For example, years ago, a friend’s dad suffered a debilitating stroke. At about $250,000, the insurance company told him “Good luck” and kicked him off the plan.

Is that a thing of the past, or is just dependent on the particular carrier?
