OT: I saw several people last night criticizing the St. Louis police officers for handcuffing the dead suspect whom they had shot, but didn’t get a chance to respond to the multiple comments before going to bed.

Aside from any problems with the shooting, it’s standard police procedure to handcuff any incapacitated (or dead) suspect who is shot by police, simply to eliminate any possibility of the suspect only having been stunned or possibly having been wearing body armor, etc.

It’s nice to see Missouri cops have such deep commitment to procedure.
