…all the steps afterward—(X+1 thru X+infinity) don’t matter.
Applies even when you’re not talking about violent upheaval: crack open the normal path of procedure and discourse, and what will come out on top is not the best idea, not even the popular idea, but the idea backed by the most ruthless bastards with the greatest bent for fuckery.
I consider myself a staunch liberal but revolution should be the last recourse. As Jefferson wrote “When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth,” We didn’t need a revolution last year. Changes, yes but revolution, no.
