I think you are right, but once elected how much clout he has and how effective he can be for his constituents will depend on who he caucuses with. It’s a big calculation, and there’s not a quick easy answer in his shoes.

Actually it may be more productive to sit with the Repubs, although we could probably use the support! But the Repubs need some clear thinkers.
