It’s hard to resist anthropomorphizing a state. One of my first thoughts when reading the article was “Come on, Oregon. Not you!”

Oregon has an interesting dichotomy. I’m actually not surprised at all that a total wacko could become the nominee in that district, because we have a lot of crazy kooks! Oregon seems to create kooks. And the Rs seem to have left a vaccuum for their nominee if they didn’t run anyone in 2008. So any maniac could just have it.

This guy, for example. He’s totally insane. He’s a riot. I love him.
