Yes. Megrahi defence put out a very plausible theory that Palestinian terrorist Abu Talb was involved. The initial Scottish court judgment even states candidly that Gauci identified Abu Talb’s photo as the photo of the purchaser (and thus the bomber). Moreover, Abu Talb was the primary suspect before the “Lybian trail” appeared.
