Years ago, I was walking down a street in NYC, in the rain, so there were no taxi’s, and I saw a long line of people. They were waiting to get the new Dick Francis book & an autograph. I stood in line for over 2 hours, in the rain. He’s a retired horse-jockey. His hands were so broken & bent he couldn’t hold a pen properly. He stayed & signed everyone’s book. But then, he didn’t have a fancy bus waiting to take him away!
