Sorry. You mentioned that “Darkness is not the opposite of light, it is the absence of light”. and that is an Augustinian viewpoint. Augustine of Hippo saw evil as a privation and not an actual thing. He was largely neo-Platonic in his views, though with important differences. Good is real. Evil is the absence of the real.
