The fact that he and Graham skipped a briefing on Benghazi in order to hold a press conference demanding information on Benghazi kinda points in that direction already.

Why would that have been insane? Sending aircraft in with an elevated risk of death isn’t insane. Non-Advisable, yes, but not insane.
