Wales would argue that people in the first world aren’t as free as they assume, and that consuming lots of commodities and having a high quality of life isn’t the same thing as being free. He’s a weird kind of objectivist, but he really, really believes that people in the world would be better off in general if Objectivism was followed. I absolutely think he’s wrong, but if all Objectivists were like Wales, things would be pretty okay.

Not a very good one.
He defines his self-interest in working on Wikipedia, spreading open-source ideas, etc. I would argue he’s not really an Objectivist, that he’s something better because he escapes the money trap in Objectivism, the obsessing with valuation, and that he’s really a different kind of Utilitarian.
He’s an Objectivist who wants to promote collaboration.
