The American people demand champagne services on a beer budget. Yes, even the “fiscally responsible” ones want their cake (or cruise missiles, or F164-37 Super Deluxe jet fighters, or other unlimited welfare checks for the military-industrial complex) without paying for it.

Either fewer services, or higher taxes, or both. There is no other way to reduce deficits, much less “balance the budget”.

It’s another form of the Tragedy of the Commons, and it cuts all ways. Wait till they get around to your pet service and then we’ll see how anti-tax you are.
