… and I thought whoever it was should’ve made the case that 0bamacare would effectively bleed away funding from a gov’t program people actually want around in some way shape or form.

This is what I don’t understand about people who are pouring out all the outrage over the current health-care proposals: Medicare is already a government mandated program, with taxes imposed to pay for it.

So if you accept Medicare as a legitimate function of the government, on what basis can one argue against broadening gov’t mandated healthcare to those under age 65?
