MM and lot of other outlets got it wrong. I live in Massachusetts and it was widely reported in many of the regions newspapers. So, picking out MM singularly seems unfair since the list of those who made the same mistake is very large. I suspect the story made it to the wire services, looked nice and juicy and apropos for the season and there you go.
