It is insulting, but I’m not worried about Paleo Pat too much. I think most people see him for wacko racist that he is. In fact, I’m totally ok with this article being printed in yahoo. Better to look the enemy in the face then have them hiding under some rock.

I am not arguing for censorship per-se. I am arguing that the fact that he isn’t immediately run out of town on a rail for being so openly nazi means that he has more support than I am comfortable admitting.

Then again, that is what hit me the other night.

It took me a little to understand why I got so angry. If we have people who shout the same things as Tim McVeigh and who honestly are infected with the same Nazi crap that McVeigh was, go armed openly to protest the government and chant the same threats that he made good on, on the anniversary of his mass murder there is a bigger problem than I feared.

If we have that, and America doesn’t immediately come down aghast in the strongest terms and these bastards feel comfortable being so open with treason, then we have a much larger problem than I feared.

These are virulent kooks. They may be percentage wise small in number, but they are a growing virulence.

The same thought applies to all of this. We are living in a political climate where open treason is flirted with by lawmakers and it is all fed on the same fears and racial and religious tensions.
