No question. It just doesn’t generate as much revenue as you’d think (which Oregon recently discovered) and certainly not enough to impact the deficit in a meaningful sense. But still, now’s not a good time to feel sorry for the poor millionaires.

The high polling figures are on the millionaire tax rates - but there is broad support for a generalised higher rate.

An increase on those higher earners will yield far more than rinsing the poor - which seems to be the only thing the GOP pols can come up with as a policy.
