so i think i know what little green footballs stands for….its just a complete guess but its the only thing i could come up with….

I was reading Joker One - basically a war story about a Marine in Iraq, and he mentioned a “little green baseball” and he was referring to grenade or some kind of explosive (i forget). Then I thought wow, little green football sure does describe a grenade pretty well.

So… grenades?
