This is like blaming Jodie Foster for John Hinckley’s assassination attempt on Regan.

It’s worse, since Foster didn’t even know who Hinckley was before the attempt. By contrast, Charles clearly rejected this lunacy in unambiguous terms and has spend years warning of the dangers it poses.
